Privacy Policy

The short version
Your files never leave your device. Every tool on docu4all — editing, signing, merging, splitting, compressing and image editing — runs as code inside your own web browser. Your documents are not uploaded to us, not stored by us, and not seen by us or anyone else. There is no server that receives them, which is why this is a property of how the site is built rather than a promise we ask you to take on trust.
That said, this website is funded by advertising, and advertising involves data collection that has nothing to do with your files. This page explains both halves honestly.
Your documents and images
When you open a file in docu4all, your browser reads it from your disk into memory on your own machine. All processing happens there. When you download the result, the finished file is written by your browser directly to your device. No copy is transmitted at any point.
If you use the Save feature in the PDF editor, your working session is stored in your own browser's local storage (IndexedDB). That data stays on your device, is accessible only to you, and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser data. We cannot read it.
We do not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal detail in order to use the tools.
Advertising and cookies
We display advertisements supplied by Google AdSense in order to keep the tools free. To do this, Google and its partners may set cookies or use similar technologies in your browser, and may collect information such as your IP address, approximate location, device and browser type, and your interactions with ads.
Google uses this information to serve and measure advertising, which may include personalised advertising based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can review and control this at Google My Ad Center, and you can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings. More information about how Google uses data from sites that use its services is available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's previous visits to this website or other websites.
To be precise about the distinction, because it matters: advertising cookies relate to your browsing, never to the contents of your files. The files themselves are never transmitted, so they cannot be analysed, profiled or shared by us or by any advertiser.
Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we present a consent management platform before serving personalised advertising, as required by Google's EU User Consent Policy and applicable data protection law. You may accept, reject or adjust your choices, and you can change your decision later using the privacy settings link in the page footer.
Analytics
We may use privacy-focused analytics to count page views and understand which tools are used. Where this is Cloudflare Web Analytics, it does not use cookies and does not fingerprint individuals.
Your rights
Because we do not collect or hold personal data ourselves, there is generally no account or file data for us to export or delete. In relation to advertising data held by Google and its partners, you can exercise your rights through the Google links above. If you have a request or a question about this policy, contact us at hello@docu4all.com.
Children
docu4all is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
